About Rev. Samuel LING and China Horizon
Rev. Samuel Ling, president of China Horizon, devotes his life to teaching Bible doctrine in the Chinese world.
He conducts courses in biblical and systematic theology, church history, apologetics, worship, and biblical counseling.
Dr. Ling is an advocate of the historic doctrine of Scripture (including the Bible's inerrancy) and
the system of doctrine taught by the Bible as understood and developed during the Protestant Reformation.
Ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America, he did church planting in New York, including serving on
the task force which birthed Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
In the 1990s he was senior pastor of Chinese Christian Union Church of Chicago, and director of
the Institute for Chinese Studies, Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College.
He has contributed hundreds of articles to periodicals such as Chinese Around the World, Chinese Churches Today, Ambassadors,
Challenger, and Momentum. He has been an author and advocate in American born Chinese (Asian American) ministry,
mainland Chinese intellectuals (PRC) ministry, and biblical (nouthetic) counseling.
He has taught at Covenant Seminary, Westminster Seminary California, Reformed Institute, Singapore Bible College,
Wheaton College, Regent College and other schools. He is currently professor of historical and
systematic theology at International Theological Seminary (www.itsla.edu), El Monte, California.
China Horizon is also involved in translating books such as Van Til's Apologetic, and John Owen's The Holy Spirit.
Rev. Samuel Ling is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (intellectual history), Westminster Theological Seminary
(M.Div. and Th.M. in missions), and Temple University (Ph.D. history). His family lives in southern California.
